Truth About Abs Review – This Isn’t A Scam!…

Ok, ten months ago I hated my upper body, I had flab and belly fat and after an embarassing moment at a friend’s BBQ I finally decided things had to change. You see, I had taken off my tee shirt, and it was then the jeers and snidy comments came out, it was humiliating.

Perhaps you can relate to this experience? I don’t know, but I can tell you it was enough to make me determined to find a solution to my ab problem.

Truth Abous Abs Review

I’d previously been on diets, The Atkins Diet worked as far as weight loss, but I just never felt ’satisfied’ after my meal. I thought that I would be in food heaven, eating nothing but meat – it was sausage and bacon for breakfast, steak for dinner, and yet I never like I enjoyed my food anymore, because I couldn’t eat bread (yeh, I’m a massive bread fan – you know the crustry bread and cob rolls).

Anyway, as I said I lost weight on The Atkins Diet, but I never enjoyed my food and I certainly didn’t have rock hard abs.

So, after searching the web for a dieting/fitness solution, I came across Truth About Six Pack Abs. Like most sensible people, I wasn’t sure about whether or not an ebook program could really help me build six pack abs. All I knew was, I had to give it a try!

So, I took the decision to buy the The Truth About Abs, have used it successfully for the last ten months and I can’t fault it. I believe in the program which is why I wanted to write this Truth About Abs Review. Now, there is so much hype and downright rubbish on the web, the first question I had to satisfy myself about, was is it simply a Truth About Abs Scam??

So, here I was in October 2009, with lots of belly fat, a love of quality bread (and good food in general) and my ‘new best friend’ Truth About Abs. I read the ebook from cover to cover, not wanting to start the exercises and nutritional program until I’d digested its content (ironic really that it’s to do with digesting content).

I then begin following the step-by-step instructions designed to chisel a six pack from my ‘barrel’. Well, to my surprise I’m feeling energised by the end of the first week (I think due to a combination of cardio exercise and the high intake of nutritional goodness instructed by the guide).

Seriously, with this kind of energy boost, coupled with clear, visible phsyical results as the waistline and ‘love handles’ begin to tone up, I challenge anyone on the program to not want to continue (and this was in the fall, when the weather wasn’t that much of a motivator to exercise).

Much of what Mike Geary teaches (he’s a qualified fitness instructor and nutritionalist, by the way), flies in the face of most ‘ab fitness’ programs. For example, Mike teaches you to work on overall body cardio exercises, rather than to simply focus obsessively on ab exercises alone. Also, rather than work a ‘body routine’ (you know the sort of thing, where you work your upper body one day, then lower body the next, etc.) Mike explains that the exercise routine needs to be versatile and flexible. Exercise routines should never become staid and boring, but rather exciting and energising.

Coupled with Mike’s emphasis on overall body conditioning and exercise variety , he also goes to great pains to explain the benefits that are to be had, when the exercise is correctly aligned to a healthy eating regime. By working on both facets simultaneously, I was much better equipped to firstly, keep the flab, belly fat off, whilst toning the abdominals and obliques for my well defined six pack (ok, it’s not yet a ‘Mr Universe’ grade of six pack, but it is a million miles away from the flabby belly that I had less than one year ago.

Go to Mike’s Geary’s Truth About Abs Official Site To Learn More…

Since being on the program I’ve read other people’s Truth About Abs Reviews but they don’t seem to get across to the reader, just how powerful this body/nutrition system really is, which is why I thought I would write a review myself.

If you’ve been going through the daily grind at the gym in the hope of achieving that perfect six pack and you feel that you just aren’t getting there, then I implore you to check out this program, heck there’s an offer to get it for just $4.95 to test it out, hell at that price, what do you have to lose (apart from the flab!).

So, if you’re ready to break free of your fat, flabby belly, then go straight to the Truth About Abs site right now, you won’t regret it! As I already said, I’ve tried the fad diets, and the regular fitness regimes, they work to some degree (if you don’t mind being miserable around food, and work yourself to death in the gym), but nothing has come close to what Truth About Abs has done for me.

Truth About Abs: What Other Information Is Out There?

August 4th, 2010 No comments

Welcome to my Truth About Abs Review, let’s take a look at some other people’s blogs today, so my reader’s can rate my work against that of others. Remember if you want to build rock hard abs, it’s not about working out on just a few muscles (abdominals and obliques basically), for literally hours on end, and depriving yourself of life’s little luxuries (ice cream, chips, chocolate, alcohol, etc.) It’s all about moderation with those luxuries by the way.

No it’s about focussing your efforts on a single goal, and implementing that goal in your diet as well as your exercise regime. Mike talks about cardio workouts and nutritional eating as being major contributors to abdominal success.

Anyway, let’s take a look at some other articles written about Mike Geary’s phenomenally successful ab fitness program…

Truth About Abs Product Review – Here Goes!

April 2nd, 2010 2 comments

This is my uncensored review of Mike Geary’s Truth About Abs product. Remember this is a review though, if you are actually looking for Mike’s website then go to Truth About Abs.

Truth About Abs ebook_cover_medium

In Truth About Abs, Mike Geary openly declares that his system involves: -
•No sit up exercises
•No fat burning pills
•No gadgets
•No boring cardio workouts, and definately
•No more scams

With such claims, can this so-called system be too good to be true? Read on to discover…  This ebook is over 120 pages in length, broken up into 14 chapters, each chapter dedicated to building ripped, six pack abs. The ebook is broken down into 3 broad sections which are as follows: -

1. Program introduction with general information on topics such as a lean body, body fat percentages, effective abs training, and metabolism;

2. Workouts, multi-joint versus single joint exercises, and total body work outs. It also documents why why cardio training IS NOT the optimum way to lose weight; and

3. Diet and Nutrition, blood sugar and insulin, the Glycemic Index, and the thermic (calorie burning) effects of food.

You can perform the exercises and follow the nutritional guide without impacting a busy life too much. No membership pass is required and even expensive home gym equipment isn’t needed.

Mike does however, suggest that using an exercise ball and set of dumb bells at home is the most effective workout routine. Mike suggests eating smaller portion meals every three hours rather than most people’s traditional breakfast, lunch, and dinner schedule.

Total calorie requirements are discussed in line with the meal plan which is useful to monitor caloric intake, so as to perform within Mike’s guidelines. This section shows clearly that it is something that can be implemented as a lifestyle change, as opposed to the more common ‘fad’ diet.

The meal plans provide you with plenty of food, so you shouldn’t suffer from hunger pains, which is the downfall of many other dieting and fitness programs. Your have to be disciplined enough to follow both the exercise and nutritional elements of the program to pretty much guarantee success.

As we begin a brand new year, many people’s new year’s resolutions will be to ‘drop a dress size or two’ or ‘to build ripped abs’ this program is a great opportunity to ensure that it becomes a reality. Gear’s program contains so much information about how to really make your exercise and diet work simultaneously, that I think makes it really is one of the most effective programs available today. Remember, you have to put a degree of effort in, but he explains how to make it all work, in the most effective way possible.

With over 50 super charged abdominal exercises, short workouts of around six minutes, masses of meal plans, any user is left in no doubt of the power of the material.

Mike’s ebook clearly explains the reasons why most fail to achieve the six pack ripped abs. He smashes the work out myth often associated with abdominal exercises, whilst showing you how to reduce your body fat AND build six pack abs. The exercise plan says goodbye to long, frequent, and fruitless workouts, instead focusing on lengths of 30  – 40 minutes, just three times per week.

As well as explaining which abdominal exercise to perform and importantly, exactly how to perform it, Mike also illustrates precisely what dietary habits to adopt in order to reaffirm the exercise routine, rather than contradict it.

Yes, the ebook is a very good read, Mike does show you very clearly which six pack ab exercises to perform, how to perform them properly to avoid injury and promote success.

The only real negative about this programme has to be the fact that it doesn’t use video footage to “take-you-by-the-hand” like products in other niches often include. This point aside, the Truth About Abs is an excellent program to promote six pack, ripped abs.

Mike is qualified to deliver information on nutrition and exercise and with personal email coaching and a 100% money back guarantee, it is extremely difficult to find any serious fault with Truth About Abs.

Muscle Group Isolation, Or All Over Body Training?

April 2nd, 2010 2 comments

When it comes to work out routines, most people make the same mistake of trying to isolate individual muscle groups. It doesn’t matter which muscle group is involved, it can be the abs, or biceps, quadriceps, etc. or any other muscle group you can think of.

Here’s the thing, what would you gain by isolating those muscle groups?, well the answer here is nothing really. You see, the body does not work well in muscle isolation. Rather, it works better in movements where a variety of muscle groups are involved, because these separate muscles assist each other to perform complex movement.

In fact, there really is no true muscle isolation. This is because there is really no muscle group that is able to work without benefiting from assistance in some way or other to carry out the movement.

By attempting to isolate those muscle groups, you are effectively treating the human body as if it is a series of body parts, rather than a single, functional unit.

Working muscle groups independently can lead to serious issues such as joint pain, tendonitis, and excessive body fat. In contrast, working the entire body and importantly, seeing it as an all encompassing machine, this promotes lean muscles that are less prone to injury and a body that functions at optimal power.

By concentrating on the body as a whole, the end result will be a body that looks leaner and is in better condition thatn its counterpart that has been worked in isolation.

It is far easier to lose body fat when adopting the all over body training. This is because when you focus on multi-joint, all over body movements, i.e.  complex movements, far higher levels of calorifies are burned during work outs, and also fat burning is further stimulated and muscle building growth is engaged through a raised metabolic rate and increases in testosterone levels.

Not convinced yet? Ok, let’s take a look at the following example. In the machine version of the leg extension, the joint is worked in isolation, particularly the quadriceps. This has very serious potential to cause knee joint problems in time, plus the exercise doesn’t really promote calorie burning. But if we contrast the machine leg extension with say, leg squats, or even lunges, steps, and deadlifts, these are all multi-joint or complex movements, which utilise tens or even hundreds of separate muscles. By working the entire body, it becomes a strong, functional unit, which fosters a more stable and strong set of joints. If these exercises are performed correctly, they are also responsible for burning huge numbers of calories, particularly so when compared to the single-joint, isolation exercises.

If you’re ready to take your work outs to the next “level”, then it’s about time you read Truth About Six Pack Abs.

The Shocking Truth about Dietary Fats and Saturated Fats

February 27th, 2010 No comments

Mike Geary explains that everyone has been deceived into thinking that saturatedfats are inherently bad for your health.

Fats are actually one of the main components in all of the cell membranes that run throughout your entire body. If you eat enough healthy natural fats, your cellular processes will proceed normally.

However, if you eat man-made, heavily processed, chemically altered fats (damaged fats) that are found in most processed foods, your body will have to work harder to operate correctly, and degenerative diseases can develop.

Additionally, healthy dietary fats are necessary for optimal hormone production and balance within the body and are therefore essential for the muscle building and fat burning processes.

This is why Mike cringes every time he hears so called “health experts” recommend restriction of dietary fat, claiming that a low-fat diet is the key to good health, weight loss, and prevention of degenerative diseases.  Restriction of any one macronutrient (protein, carbs, or fat) in your diet works against what your body needs and this can only lead to health problems.

Well, Mike believes that the reason why saturated fat gets a bad name is because the natural unprocessed health promoting fats have been mistakenly tarred with the same brush as the deadly processed fats and oils that make up a large percentage of almost all processed food that is sold at your local grocery store, restaurant, deli, fast food joint, etc. These deadly processed fats are literally everywhere and almost impossible to avoid unless you know what to look for and make smart choices in what you feed your body with.

Ok, Mike doesn’t recommend following a super high fat diet, however, active individuals that exercise on a regular basis certainly also need adequate supplies of healthy carbohydrates for energy and muscle glycogen replenishment as well as good sources of protein for muscle repair.

Following is a list of some of the healthiest fatty foods (some will surprise you!) as well as some of the deadliest fatty foods to try to avoid at all costs:

Healthy Fatty Foods: -

* Coconut fat;
* Extra virgin olive oil;
* Dark, bittersweet chocolate (>70% cocoa);
* Avocados or guacamole;
* High fat fish such as wild salmon, sardines, mackerel, herring, trout, etc.;
* Nuts (any and all – walnuts, almonds, peanuts, cashews, macadamias, etc.);
* Seeds (sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, flax seeds);
* The fat in organically raised, free-range animals;

The Deadly Fatty Foods: -

* Hydrogenated oils;
* Refined oils;
* Anything deep fried;
* Homogenized milk fat;

A fully comprehensive analysis on dietary protein, carbohydrates, and fat, and how to compile all of this information into a diet that promotes a lean healthy body with a low body fat percentage is provided in Mike’s book Truth About Six Pack Abs. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed!

Mike’s Top 55 Lean-Body Foods to Build Muscle and Lose Body Fat

February 23rd, 2010 2 comments

This post is a critique of Mike Geary’s article on his Top 55 Lean Body Foods.

In this article, Mike talks about the kinds of food that he stocks in his fridge and kitchen cabinets.

Mike states the blindlingly obvious in a manner that most readers can resonate with. An example of this is when he talks of removing junk food from the home and replacing it with healthy alternatives so you are compelled to eat healthily, because basically you are faced with no other option.

Mike stocks lots of fresh vegetables so nothing controversial here. He also discusses purposely buying fresh vegetables locally, particularly during the growing seasons, and out of season how he has to source his produce from further afield. Mike’s vegetables of choice include onions, zucchini, spinach, fresh mushrooms, red peppers, and broccoli.

There is often a lot of confusion when it comes to athletes eating eggs. Many athletes swear on only eating the egg whites, however, Mike says that the yolk provides the best nutritional part of the egg and that eggs actually work in favour of cholesterol by actually raises levels of what he calls “good” cholesterol. Of course Mike enthuses about the health benefits of organic eggs over battery reared.

Another favoured milk product is coconut milk, with Mike using it for smoothies, oatmeal, and yogurt. Mike then emphasises the benefits of eating what he calls “healthy saturated fats”. Of course to the dietary uneducated, saturated fats are extremely unhealthy, but Mike explains how medium chain triglycerides, specifically an MCT called lauric acid can actually be healthy for you.

Other fridge contents include chopped walnuts, pecans, and almonds. He explains how cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, and yogurt can all added to chopped nuts and berries to create a tasty  snack time meal. A great deal of seeds including flax seeds and chia seeds are ground and added to yogurts and salads. Emphasis is always on fresh produce as omega-3 polyunsaturated fats are highly unstable and prone to oxidation, which can lead to free radicals, which can harbour illness. Even butter is endorsed as being healthy, again this often goes against the grain of regular discussions on health. He actually claims that margarine should never be substituted for butter in any event, as Mike believes that margarine is a positive component to the cause of heart attack.

Mike also promotes what he calls “nut butters”, not the common all garden peanut butter, but much more adventurous sesame seed and macadamia butter. He also advises that home made salad dressings offer a far greater health content than the shop bought variety.

Whole grain wraps and whole grain bread (look for wraps and bread with at least 3-4 grams of fiber per 20 grams of total carbs). Rice bran and wheat germ – these may sound way too healthy for some, but they actually add a nice little nutty, crunchy taste to yogurt or smoothies, or can be added when baking muffins or breads to add nutrients and fiber.

His freezer is well stocked with frozen berries including blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, and cherries. Frozen fish ensures that he eats at least a couple different kinds of fish each week.

Frozen chicken breasts – very convenient for a quick addition to wraps or chicken sandwiches for quick meals. He also relays that grass-fed steaks, burgers, and ground beef as the grassfed varieties can have as high levels of omega-3 fatty acids than salmon. Also, grass-fed meats have much higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) compared to typical grain-fed beef. If you can afford it then you should stock frozen buffalo, ostrich, and venison, and other “exotic” lean meats, as they are some of the healthiest meats around. They are much healthier cuts of meat than the mass produced, hormone-pumped beef and pork that’s sold at most grocery stores. Frozen vegetables are preferred to fresh, well travelled produce, and are second only to locally bought, fresh varieties.

His kitchen cabinets house healthy items such as antioxidant rich teas e.g. green, oolong, white, and rooibos. Whole wheat or whole grain spelt pasta as it is much higher in fiber than normal pastas. Oat bran and steel cut oats, which are also higher in fiber than those little packs of instant oats.

Cans of coconut milk, brown rice and tomato sauces are favoured. He even describes a healthy alternative to (as he puts it) chemical-laden artificial sweeteners like aspartame, saccharine, and sucralose. Raw honey (better than processed honey) higher quantities of beneficial nutrients and enzymes.

Mike uses organic maple syrup as a mix for his post-workout smoothies, as he says it creates an insulin rush, thus aiding the the absorption of nutrients into the muscles.

He even advocates eating dark chocolate as a treat, the darker the better as it increases the levels of antioxidants. He tops everything off with a variety of exotic fruits such as yellow (aka – mexican or champagne) mangoes, pomegranates, kumquats, papaya, star fruit, pineapples, and others.
